The ranch house on the property was turned into a guesthouse to host friends and family.

Adele – ~$8.9 Million, West Sussex

We wonder why the multi-millionaire songstress Adele chose to rent the 1900-built Tudor-style Lock House for two years instead of just buying it, as she can easily afford it with her current bank balance. The 13 bed, 9 bath manse is located on a whopping 85-acre plot, which also had its own helipad! The last owners added a loggia, ballroom, indoor swimming pool, modern kitchen, and 3 of its current bedrooms. The home has an eccentric “Art Deco” meets Tudor castle look to it!

Take Spectre and Knives Out actor Daniel Craig and his wife Rachel Weisz (The Mummy, The Favourite),who dropped $6.06 million to snatch up this 6,600 square foot property, which actually suffered extensive damages from a roof fire in 2017.
Nevertheless Craig is gung-ho about this fixer upper, and he is in good company, as actors Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys, Michelle Williams, and John Krasinksi and Emily Blunt live very close by. The building which houses the apartment was also built in 2005 and was supposed to be a synagogue initially. Besides impressive views from the 11th floor, the journalist’s home also has a private balcony which faces the river. Why Charleston and not Los Angeles, you ask? It’s because the Shawshank Redemption actor was raised there by his grandmother and bought this plot from his parents in 1991 to build his ranch-style home on it. When acting legend Anthony Hopkins (from Silence of the Lambs) sold off his 4,010-square-foot, cliff-side, 2-story Cape Cod-style mansion in Malibu, it came completely empty and bare. The new owners who paid $11 million for it, may prefer it that way, as the house is likely to be bulldozed as erosion has eaten up a large chunk of the residence’s lawns.

Unfortunately, bankruptcy woes led to Warren losing everything, including his vast mansion. It was initially worth more than $7 million, but he had to give it up for about half the price. The house is technically called a "shotgun" because it is super thin and long, and if something was thrown from the entrance, it would come out at the end! Since it was built decades ago, the dame refurbished the mansion, and now it brags of an airy, romantic French vibe and a calming Southern hush! Just lovely!
